After a couple phone calls to Ancestry where I waited on hold forever with nobody answering, the web site not giving me the option to cancel my account (as the help page said I could), I just cancelled my credit card as the only way to get rid of the monthly charge. Also, there is apparently no way to send an email message to Ancestry to cancel )nothing on their web site about sending email), nor can you reply to an email they send to you. My suggestion is DO NOT GIVE ANCESTRY YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER, unlike what they advertise, it will take a lot of work to stop the subscription.
